PREVIEW | RUDDINGTON VILLAGE VS KIMBERLEY MINERS WELFARE RESERVES
THE RESERVES ARE ON THE ROAD FOR THE FIRST OF FIVE
UP NEXT, the league continues to help the reserves while The Stag Ground is out of action in giving them five games in a row away from home. This time, the boys make the trip to face Ruddington Village in the Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division.
The reserves are on a fantastic six match unbeaten run as they continue finding their feet playing at step seven. They will hope to stretch this run further today against a side who themselves are coming into form.
Ruddington Village head into the match with shoots of recovery beginning to show after a win in the league cup on penalties followed a dominant league victory the week before. A win for Ruddington today would certainly help to improve their run of form so far this season.
Last Saturday, the reserves were at “home” at Underwood for the second weekend in a row as they welcomed Southwell City Reserves to Bracken Park. After an uneventful first half, the teams went in goalless at the break. Things livened up in the second half as just ten minutes into the action, Jacob Davies received a second yellow card and reduced his team to ten men. Southwell seized on this almost immediately as they took the lead just two minutes later through substitute Henry Eastgate. Robert Da Silva levelled things eight minutes later, before Southwell again took the lead through Eastgate on seventy two. Joe Gillan rescued a point for Kimberley with seven minutes of normal time remaining.
Final Score - Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves 2-2 Southwell City Reserves
The same weekend, Ruddington played out a goalless draw in the league cup at home against Arnold Town. A 4-3 win on penalties took Ruddington into the next round.
A LITTLE ABOUT THE OPPOSITION
Established in 1986 we provide youth football teams from Under 7s to Under 18s. As well as our 2 adult teams; we have 23 youth teams playing in local leagues, giving children from Ruddington and the surrounding areas the opportunity to play football and improve their skills, harnessing their love of the game.
Our volunteers, who manage and run the teams are all FA trained in order to help the children develop and progress through each age group. Our Club couldn't run without the support and time given by all the people who run the club and teams.
We are proud to be an FA Standard Charter Club.
FINALLY
Both teams will be keen to get some more points on the board this early in the season. We expect a great game
See you there
