PREVIEW | KIMBERLEY MINERS WELFARE RESERVES VS SOUTHWELL CITY RESERVES
THE RESERVES ARE AT HOME AGAIN AS THEY AIM TO KEEP THE GOOD FORM GOING
UP NEXT, the reserves are again at their temporary home at Underwood Villa for the second game in a row as they welcome Southwell City Reserves in the Eurosoccer Nottinghamshire Senior League.
With four wins from their last five matches, the reserves are in excellent, freescoring form as they prepare to face the side currently sitting in thirteenth spot in the division at this early stage of the season.
Southwell City reserves come to Underwood on the back of two matches without a win. With just eleven goals both scored and conceded in their seven games so far, Southwell will be confident of finding the back of the net on Saturday, while having an eye on protecting their own goal along the way.
The Reserves were back at home last Saturday to face a potential banana skin against bottom side, FC Cavaliers. Such worries were put to bed in the opening thirteen minutes as Dexter Cooper opened the scoring on seven minutes and Alfie Newbold doubled the lead six minutes later. It took another twenty two minutes for a change in the scoreline as Kimberley added four goals in nine minutes to kill off the game. Bernard Ankamah scored on thirty five and doubled his tally just four minutes later. Owen Evans bagged his second of the season on forty two and Brad Mee got in on the act a minute before the end of normal time in the first half. Cavaliers grabbed a consolation seven minutes into the second half before Dan Walker, and two more for Alfie Newbold completed the rout for a fantastic result and their second highest win this calendar year.
Final Score - Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves 9-1 FC Cavaliers
Southwell City Reserves’ last match saw them hosting Bingham Town, who were promoted into the division along with Kimberley Reserves for this season. Bingham were a goal to the good and added two more in the second half with two goals coming from Jacob Boyes and one from Kieran Stanley, both players also saw yellow in the match. Southwell scored their only goal through substitute Henry Eastgate.
Final Score Southwell City Reserves 1-3 Bingham Town
