TWO WINS AND TWO LOSSES WITH ALL TEAMS AWAY FROM HOME

Here are the results of the matches played on the 11th and 12th of October

Saturday the 11th of October

On Saturday, the first team travelled to a venue where they suffered a heavy defeat last season. This time around, however, the miners are a completely different animal, sitting in the top three in the division rather than the bottom end of the table last term. The first half yielded little in the way of goalmouth action as the teams went in goalless at half time. Kimberley improved hugely in the second half and opened the scoring through the returning Sacha Markelic, marking his second debut for the club with a cool finish from a low cross from top scorer Fin Ryder. The lead was doubled twenty five minutes later as Kole LAmbert, back from injury finished off a low cross from Jordan Wheatley. The result was wrapped up with two minutes of normal time remaining when Nat Peters received the ball from Kole Lambert, cut inside two players inside the Deeping Penalty area and bent the ball into the top corner from seventeen yards. The result keeps the miners in third spot on goal difference as the top three are tied on twenty six points.
Final Score - Deeping Rangers 0-3 Kimberley Miners Welfare

The Reserves made a trip to Platt Lane to face Keyworth United on the back of a six match run which has seen them take sixteen points. The two sides went into half time level as neither could find a breakthrough. Chris Neilson sealed the points for Kimberley halfway through the second half as neither side was able to add to the scoreline. A great result for the reserves, which sees them occupying second place in the league after promotion. This achievement so far has gone relatively unnoticed because of the first team success, but the boys have done fantastically well so far this season. A huge congratulations should go to the team and management for this success.
Final Score - Keyworth United 0-1 Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves

Sunday the 12th of October

Our EMPAL side travelled to East Leake to face Rempstone FC Reserves in the league. Having made a fantastic start to the season, the lads will be disappointed to come away with a defeat. Lee Turton and Buster Saunders scored for Kimberley, while Lewis Broom, Luke Powell and two from Corey Toase sealed the victory for Rempstone.
Final Score - Rempstone FC Reserves 4-2 Kimberley Miners Welfare

Our Veterans flipped the fixture against Magdala and played at Digby Street. Paul Riley scored as the vets went down 2-1 for their first defeat of the season.
