Here are the results of the matches played on the 25th and 26th of October
Saturday the 25th of October
On Saturday, the first team travelled to Blackstones in search of a tenth successive victory in all competitions. This time, the league was the focus. Blackstones were in need of a victory after a couple of defeats previously. A poor game saw the hosts bag the only goal midway through the second half. The miners should not get too down about the result, having been fantastic so far this season, although Saturdays' result could serve as a wake up call for the team to remain focussed.
Final Score - Blackstones 1-0 Kimberley Miners Welfare
The reserves had no fixture at the weekend
Sunday the 12th of October
Our EMPAL side travelled to Edwalton to face Dovecrest, who sat above the miners in the table. Goals from Danny Batty, Lucas Robinson, an own goal and two from substitute Myles Smith wrapped up a 5-2 win to see Kimberley leapfrog Dovecrest in the league
Final Score - Dovecrest 2-5 Kimberley Miners Welfare
Our Veterans were in county cup action away at Sherwood Colliery. A 0-0 scoreline saw the match go to penalties. Our Old Miners won 3-0 on penalties to progress into the next round.
Final Score - Sherwood Colliery 0-0(p) Kimberley Miners Welfare
