UP NEXT, pending a pitch inspection, the reserves face Linby Colliery Welfare at the third attempt in the quarter finals of the Nottinghamshire FA Senior Trophy.
Kimberley approach the match having had their last three fixtures postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Southwell City Reserves followed by another postponement at Arnold Town on Wednesday. Prior to that, the miners are on a five match unbeaten run, with two of those matches taking place in 2026 and are yet to concede this calendar year.
Linby Colliery Welfare come into the fixture on the back of two league defeats, but should not be underestimated as they were victorious over Awsworth Villa in the last round of the county cup just three weeks ago.
Kimberleys last match saw them travel to the Forest Sports Zone to face FC Cavaliers. The game was goalless as the teams went into half time. The second half, however, was a different story as Alfie Newbold broke the deadlock four minutes into the half and Owen Evans doubled the lead with twenty five minutes remaining.
Final Score - FC Cavaliers 0-2 KMW Reserves
Linby’s last match was a trip to Poppyfields Drive in Mickleover where they faced Mickleover RBL in the Central Midlands Alliance League. A Jordan Lee hat trick and a goal from Billy Freeborough wrapped up the win for RBL as Will Knowles grabbed Linby’s only goal of the game.
FINALLY
We await confirmation after a pitch inspection, but expect a tough match against a side who have already beaten a side from the Notts Senior League.
