UP NEXT, The Reserves are back at home at The Stag ground where they will come head to head with Dunkirk AFC.
On a Tuesday night back at The Stag Ground, The Reserves will be keen to grab the three points against Dunkirk with hopes to get back to winning ways and hopefully finish the season on a high in the top five for the first time at step seven.
Dunkirk take a short trip to The Stag Ground to see if they can snatch the win. With one win in their last six matches, the visitors will be keen to get some points on the board after what can only be described as an inconsistent season.
On Saturday the reserves made the long journey down to Collingham. The wind was not playing in the reserves favour and after what many thought would lead to a goalless first half Robert Da Silva in the 45 minute scored and gave the reserves the half time lead. Shortly into the second half Collingham equalised the game with a 57 minute goal from Logan Mountney. The Miners attempted to take the lead again in the game but unfortunately Collingham scored a second goal from William Germany in the 83rd minute which gave Collingham the lead and ultimately won the game.
Final score KMW 1-2 Collingham FC
Dunkirk's last game was on Saturday at the Ron Steel Sports Ground, where they welcomed Notts Olympic. The visitors strolled to success with goals from Chris Lothian, Elijah Samuels and Gideon Neto for 3-0 to Notts Olympic.
LAST TIME AROUND
The reserves faced Dunkirk at their ground in September of 2025 in an intense game which left the reserves victorious in a 2-1 win to the reserves. In the first half a goal gave the reserves the lead from Alfie Newbold. In the second half Owen Evans scored the reserves a second goal giving the reserves a 2-0 lead, Dunkirk fired a goal back scored by Alex Ward, unfortunately it wasn't enough and the reserves left victorious with the three points.
A LITTLE ABOUT THE OPPOSITION
Dunkirk FC were founded in 1946 and their nickname is "The Boatmen". The first league they joined was the Notts Amateur League, of which they were members until 1975. They won the Premier Division in that season, the club's first major honour. Accepted into the Notts Alliance League, they got off to a good start, eventually finishing runners up. Five years later they were champions.
The club rebuilt again during the 2012–13 season but inconsistency was their main problem. They did however finish in a creditable 10th position winning 18 of their 42 matches, losing 16 and drawing 8. The reserves, under the guidance of Mark Harbottle, claimed silverware for the second successive season as they won the Central Midlands League Reserve Supreme Division with a very young side. Dunkirk were once again on the lookout for a new chairman as David Johnson had to resign from his position due to work commitments. Craig Smith took on the role in the interim. The club remained members of the East Midlands Counties League until it was disbanded at the end of the 2020–21 season, at which point they were transferred to Division One of the United Counties League
