PREVIEW | KIMBERLEY MINERS WELFARE RESERVES VS CALVERTON MINERS WELFARE

Dave Morley5 Dec - 13:04

COUNTY CUP ROUND THREE AS THE MINERS MOVE TO THE 4G

UP NEXT, The reserves are hosting Saturday's match at Kimberley Leisure Centre on the 4G pitch because Underwood Villa’s ground has again fallen victim of the weather. This time around, it’s the third round of the Nottinghamshire FA Senior Trophy, welcoming Calverton Miners Welfare.

After a short lived slip up, the miners seem to have picked themselves back up with victory last weekend. Kimberley currently occupy third spot in the NSL Premier Division and are well in the chasing pack behind runaway leaders Cotgrave. Their patch so far in the County cup has seen them receive a bye in the first round, followed by a 3-1 away win over Wollaton Reserves at the start of November. Goals came from Benard Ankamah and a brace from Louis Fazal.

Calverton Miners Welfare sit in fourth spot in the NSL Division One and will have an eye on promotion after a solid first half to the season as they have a game in hand on top spot and are just three points behind. Calverton's route to the third round has been straightforward, having been granted victories over their opponents in both cases.

Kimberley’s last match saw revenge for a defeat three weeks previous as they beat Aslockton and Orston 3-1 on the 4G pitch at Kimberley School. Two goals from Louis Fazal and one from Brad Mee wrapped up the win as the visitors could only find the back of the net on one occasion.
Final Score KMW Reserves 3-1 Aslocton & Orston

Calverton Miners Welwares last match saw them visit AC United in what was likely to have been a bruising encounter. Charles Roberts bagged a consolation goal in the second half after AC scored twice in the first half to take all three points.
Final Score - AC United 2-1 Calverton Miners Welfare

FINALLY

Both sides will be wanting to progress into the fourth round of the cup and maintain their excellent runs so far this season. We expect a great game, but hope for a Kimberley victory
