GROUND SHARE ANNOUNCEMENT

GROUND SHARE ANNOUNCEMENT

Dave Morley20 May - 06:17

Basford to the rescue as home ground improvements are set to take place for the rest of this year

Kimberley Miners Welfare FC is delighted to announce that our home games next season will be hosted at Greenwich Avenue, home of our near neighbours Basford United.

With works to rebuild our clubhouse and changing rooms due to commence in early June, the Miners will be homeless for at least the rest of 2025.

This agreement with Basford ensures we can fulfil all future obligations, until our own newly improved facility will be ready later in the season.

The temporary groundshare has been agreed over the last few weeks but can now be announced following final approval from relevant authorities.

Chairman Ryan Doherty commented 'we are really pleased that this has now been ratified, and we can now look forward to the fixture release. Greenwich Avenue is one of the best football venues in the region and I know our first team are very much looking forward to playing on Basford's premier 4G surface. For our supporters, we know there will be some short-term inconvenience, but we hope as many as possible will join us on this short trip up the A610'.

In what has been an important period at our club, we would like to place on record our thanks to all at Basford United, especially Chris & Jess Munroe, David Lilley and Jo Hawson.

We also thank Roger and Ian at UCL for their support and advice in the matter.
